From an invitation I received this morning:
Buffet menu
Hord'voures
Tossed salad
Ham
Turkey/stuffing/gravy. . .
Let's hope the person writing this menu meant hors d'oeuvres. Yes, it's a difficult word to spell. Yes, it's even from a foreign language (French), but, ladies and gentlemen, we MUST be correct in our writing -- especially if something we're writing is going to be handed out to over a hundred people! Spell check even catches this one because it's common enough in English.
